A Speed Pedelec is a two-wheeled pedal vehicle (excluding motorized cycles) equipped with an auxiliary propulsion mode primarily intended to assist pedaling. The auxiliary propulsion system cuts off when the vehicle reaches a maximum speed of 45 km/h. For an electric motor, the maximum continuous rated power is capped at 4 kW.
